CELEBRATING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 2nd November 2016, IEEE Bangladesh Section organized a workshop on “Generate Ideas for Research and development projects leading to commercial success” hosted by IEEE AIUB Student Branch. The workshop took place at Room 266, Faculty of Engineering Building, AIUB. The main objective of this event was to guiding researcher from different engineering fields to peruse their research in a constructive way. Researcher and faculty members from more than six universities participated in this workshop.
This workshop was instructed by Mr. Sudeendra Koushik; Vice-chair, IEEE Bangalore Section and Ms. Pragya Dixit; Entrepreneur & Co-Founder of Prasu, Both of them are specialist and consultant on productive innovation and research studies. The workshop started with opening remarks of Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman; Educational Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section; Director and Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB. He delivered his speech on the importance of research planning. Following his speech Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain; Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, took the stage and gave a speech on research studies and research implementation in the commercial field.
Afterward, Mr. Sudeendra Koushik initiated the workshop. He started his speech on research perspective and how researchers should conduct their research. He discussed two main objectives of research projects, one is to add the body of knowledge and other to enhance the quality of life. Following that, Ms. Pragya Dixit explained why it is important to peruse their research by selecting a valuable problem. She suggested to begin a research from problem to idea and solution. She added that solving a valuable problem is more sophisticated than solving a general problem. Later on, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB joined the workshop and discussed with the speakers about different research methodology and improvement of the education system. The workshop was spirited into two sessions. In the first session, there was a detailed discussion on research perspectives and guidance to be followed while conducting a research. The Second session was constructed with some interactive task given to participants. Attendees divided into several groups and tried to solve different case study problems.
As the workshop drew to a conclusion all the attendees were given a certificate for their participation in this workshop. Afterward Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman along with Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain presented a token of appreciation and crest to Mr. Sudeendra Koushik and Ms. Pragya Dixit. After that, Dr. M. Tanseer Ali, Counselor, IEEE AIUB SB & Assistant Professor, AIUB; presented Mr. Sudeendra Koushik and Ms. Pragya Dixit a small gift on behalf of IEEE AIUB SB. Participants were appreciative to attend this workshop and they all inclined to do decorate their research in more productive day. The workshop was graced by the presence of Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, Head (Undergraduate Program) and Associate Professor, AIUB; Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Student Activity Coordinator, IEEE Bangladesh Section; Asst.
