Details: IEEE Society for Societal Implications of Technology (SSIT) BD Chapter organized an interactive meeting with Dr. Greg Adamson, chair of the IEEE Standards Association Special Interest Group on Blockchain on 22 April 2019 at Chef’s Table, Gulshan, Dhaka. The meeting was presided by Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah, Education chair, IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee (HAC) and Nomination and Appointment Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section and Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section. Members of the IEEE SSIT BD chapter joined the meeting as well. The hour-long meeting focused on current and future initiatives and work plans of the IEEE SSIT BD chapter. Plannings regarding several ongoing and future projects like “Bringing back life to Rohingya”, “Telemedicine Center for Tribal Women Healthcare in Hill Tracts Community in Bangladesh” were discussed in the meeting. Legal frameworks of AI, Standard committee etc were also discussed in the meeting.
