On 13 September, 2019 IEEE Bangladesh Section Student Activities Committee along with IEEE Bangladesh Section organized a Joint SB Initiative Programme. The programme took place at ECE building, BUET from 9:00 am up to 7:00 pm. It was hosted by IEEE BUET SB and attended by 120 students from different universities.
The whole programme was divided into three main portions and in each portion few sessions were included. The event started with an introductory session of Raihan Ur Rahman in which he discussed the activities of IEEE Bangladesh Section as well as about the awards, accomplishments and the best practices of Bangladesh Section. The next session was conducted by the Chair of IEEE NSU SB Asma Arisha. She mentioned some best practices of IEEE NSU SB which is one of the most active student branches of Bangladesh section. After that Abir Hasan Akib started his session. In his session he demonstrated the procedure of Vtools Reporting. The next session was conducted by the Chair of IEEE AIUB SB, Tauhid Sifat. He mentioned some best practices of his SB. In the next session, Safayetul Wahab Chowdhury discussed about Professional and Personal skill development. After that, Shams Shad Islam Khan, Student Activity Coordinator and Abir Hasan Akib, Section Student Representative conducted an interactive session on event planning and implementation.
After the lunch & prayer break, Sk Azmaeen Bin Amir started his session. He discussed about various sides of Nuclear Power Technology. Abul Al Arabi conducted the next session, which was about Emerging Research & Technical Activities in IEEE. In the next session Dr. M. Tanseer Ali mentioned the benefits of becoming an IEEE Member. He also described about IEEE membership Recruitment and Retention. The next session was conducted by the Chair of IEEE BUET SB Satyaki Banik. He mentioned some best practices of IEEE BUET SB as one of the most active student branches of Bangladesh section. In the next session, Shoilie Chakma and Saraf Mahnaz mentioned the best practices of IEEE WIE. The next session was conducted by Abhijit Biswas in which he described the procedure of Financial Reporting. Abdul Mubin Ahmed guided the next session on Technical Skill Enhancement. Md. Riyad conducted the following session about Industry-Academia Collaboration.
After a short tea break, Zafir Shafiee Chowdhury and Md Ataur Rahman Sarkar started a new session on Entrepreneurship Bootcamp – Panel Discussion. In the next session, A R M Abdullah mentioned the best practices of IEEE YP. Then Professor Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section conducted a session on Authorship Workshop to ensure quality publication. Before the closing session, an interactive session was guided by Dr. Shaikh Anowarul Fattah on Social Impact Analysis of Humanitarian Technology Projects.
